A newlywed has filed for divorce after her husband brought his mother on their honeymoon, ANSA news agency reported on Wednesday.

When the married couple of two days set off for their honeymoon to France in December, the 36-year-old Italian woman was shocked to see that her mother-in-law was also at Rome's Fiumicino Airport.

When she objected, her husband said that he could not leave his mother alone for health reasons.

The three spent the honeymoon together in France. However, when the woman came back to Italy, she filed for divorce, claiming that her husband and his mother had an "excessive emotional attachment".
