SingaporeMemory.SgWhat constitutes a Singaporean? Is it the ability to speak Singlish? Is it the common love for hawker food? Check out, a portal seeking the answer or answers, and perhaps add your own definition too.

Launched in 2011, the Singapore Memory Project (SMP) is a national initiative aimed at collecting, preserving and providing access to Singapore's story and relevant materials. This may come in the form of various formats, such as print, audio and video.

On top of archiving and sharing these fond memories, SMP also hops to engage individuals, communities, groups or institutions to contribute the memories and content they have formed about this little red dot. To this end, several activities have been organized. This includes irememberMySchoolDays School Competition, Toa Payoh! Carnival and Online Contest and Singapore Day 2012 among other activities.

Through this discourse, more people may figure out, learn or understand what being a Singaporean truly means – for themselves. If you don't have an answer for what being a Singaporean means and you would like to find out or share your take, this is the site for you.
