Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2013

Organised by the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee, the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2013 – themed 'Spring of Happiness – promises to be an exciting celebration filled with live fireworks and firecrackers, lion dance performances, a festive bazaar and a brilliant street light-up including a 108-metre long 3D snake sculpture and over 850 sky lanterns.

This year's Chinese New Year's countdown party begins on 9 February at 9.30pm, and is the start of a 15-day long celebration with much fanfare including nightly performances at Kreta Ayer square and even a Chinatown Wishing Tree. MediaCorp artistes will be hosting the event which will be aired on free to air TV from the heart of Chinatown.

The festive carnival and street bazaar is also where the city will be at its liveliest at this time of the year. Experience the festive mood for yourself as you shop for your last-minute new year goodies such as bargain auspicious flowers and festive bakes.
