Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?

Why is it that some people are more dispensable than others? And are you one of those in this danger zone? In Seth Godin's Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? How to Drive your Career and Create a Remarkable Future, he puts forward that we can all make ourselves more indispensable than others in whatever role we play at work.

And in order to make yourself more invaluable than others, there are a few steps that you have to take: Adopt a leadership position regardless of your job scope or title, taking the initiative to make things happen instead of conforming to the system and adopt the right attitude for work among others.

This may sound like simple, no-brainer steps but how does one actually go about doing that? Godin puts things into perspective. For example, being dispensable is to do your own job and doing a job that is not yours in this case would be dangerous. However, when you are linchpin, it is a must that you do the job that has to be done but is not. Get it? That is just one of the many nuggets of wisdom the man has placed within his book.

If you are still not convinced, here's what notable publications and personalities such as TIME, Business Week and Jacqueline Novogratz of The Acumen Fund says: "Read Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? How to Drive your Career and Create a Remarkable Future and find this book indispensable."
